Superconductivity in centrosymmetric topological superconductor candidate TaC

Abstract We report the synthesis and physical properties of single crystals TaC, which are proposed to hold topological band structure as a superconductor (TSC) candidate. Magnetization, resistivity specific heat measurements performed indicate that TaC is bulk with critical temperature 10.3 K. strongly coupled type-II superconducting state can be well described by s -wave Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer theory gap. The upper field ( H c2 ) shows linear dependence, quite different from most conventional superconductors isostructural NbC, manifest nodal-loops or Dirac points superconductivity. Our results suggest would new candidate for further research TSCs.
